WHAT IS THE BAC

After many years of thinking about a way to bridge the gap between the arts and the public, the idea for the Braswell Arts Center was born. Since 2017, the BAC has provided a space for creativity, collaboration, and innovation in all art forms. We are proud to offer dance classes and other artistic experiences for all ages, levels, and body types, as well as new initiatives for underprivileged children and development opportunities for emerging artists. The BAC is available for dance performances, concerts, gallery exhibitions and special events. Through arts education and exchange, the BAC seeks to foster collaboration, creation, networking, and entrepreneurship within the local and international arts community.

• ADULT DANCE CLASSES

Here's your chance to join the popular Basel dance community! Dance classes with live music for all levels and all body types. Led by Juilliard graduate and Ballet Theater Basel soloist Armando Braswell and his team of quality artists.

• BAC CLASSES FOR KIDS AND TEENS

BAC Kids and Teens is a multi-arts program for children and teens at the Braswell Arts Center.

Our weekly classes provide children with quality lessons that focus on improving self-discipline while providing opportunities to develop the creative spirit in a supportive environment. Led by Juilliard School alumnus and Ballet Basel soloist Armando Braswell and his team of top-notch artists, children experience a unique artistic mentoring experience that motivates them to focus on their commitment and personal achievement through high-quality training.

In partnership with sponsors and foundations, we are proud to support underprivileged children by offering financial assistance for our BAC Kids program.

• PRE-PROFESSIONAL PROGRAM PRE PROFESSIONAL PROGRAM

The Braswell Arts Pre-Professional Program is a year-round training and mentorship program offered by the Braswell Arts Association for dancers ages 13-21 who demonstrate exceptional potential for a dance career.

**The Braswell Arts Centre is a proud partner school of the Basel Talents performance sports development program.

As a result, BAC, together with the Basel-Stadt and Baselland Departments of Education, offers the most talented dancers the opportunity to continue their dance education at a professional level while completing their formal academic training as part of the Sport Class.

• HOLIDAY ARTS CAMP

Come join us for an exciting week (or two) of multi-arts programs from Braswell Arts Center. We offer full or half day camps for children ages 6 and up. Artistic mentoring in music, art and dance with highly qualified teachers to inspire the next generation of young artists.

• DANCE WORKSHOPS

The BAC workshops take place during the school vacations in Basel-Stadt, where we bring some of the best teachers from all over the world to Basel! While our regular weekly classes are only open to our members, we believe it is important to share these great guest teachers and their unique teaching style with the entire community.

This means that all of our workshops, pop-up classes, and teaching engagements are open to the public! If you are interested in attending our classes but can't join us regularly and commit to a membership, BAC workshops are for you!

• ONLINE CLASSES

Here's your chance to join Basel's popular community online! Including online dance and fitness classes for all levels and body types.

Led by Armando Braswell and our wonderful team of teachers and musicians. These guided and easy-to-follow classes are for those who want to improve their dance skills or fitness level - all from the comfort of their own home, with no one watching!

• DANCE ABROAD DANCE ABROAD

AN INTERNATIONAL DANCE EXPERIENCE IN BASEL, SWITZERLAND.

The Braswell Arts Association Dance Abroad Program is for students and schools interested in an international experience filled with dance, art and new cultures. In collaboration with Braswell Arts Association and local businesses, we create an unforgettable international experience.

Dancers in all stages of technical development are invited to apply.

• ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE PROGRAM

ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS NOW

Your new opera. Your new piece for a string quartet. Your new solo dance piece. Your new play. Your new sculpture or painting. Created in peace and surrounded by good energy. Support artists by providing space and resources to create a new work in all art forms.

The Braswell Arts Center Artist-in-Residence Program provides a professional arts space for artists to create, rehearse and perform in Basel. A new initiative that provides development and performance opportunities while supporting emerging or established artists. In collaboration with Basel-Stadt, Basel-Landschaft, businesses, foundations, and the public, we hope to create mentorship by providing free rehearsal and performance space, as well as resources and support. A chance to focus on their best work. We strive to provide quality performances for audiences at the end of the program, thereby reaching and nurturing new audiences who might not otherwise have been exposed to the arts.
